A traditional recipe (if there is such a thing). The sauce is made with ground beef & sausage. It all starts with onions, celery, fresh garlic & carrots, herbs, white wine, milk & ground meat - all cooked together for 3-4 hours and finished with a little tomato paste. Nothing fancy - just a lot of time & care.
The sauce is layered between fresh pasta sheets & our bechamel/cheese sauce. Topped with a blanket of mozzarella & cheddar.
